ISTSS Travel Grants: Applications Due July 15

A limited number of travel grants will be available in 2006 to support conference attendees coming from developing countries and experienc­ing financial hardship with fees or travel costs. The travel grants are supported by voluntary contributions from ISTSS members.

Submit an Application
An ISTSS member must submit the application. Members may apply on behalf of individuals who are not members of the society. Grants will be awarded based on applications received by July 15, 2006. Indi­viduals selected to receive a travel grant will be notified in writing by September 15, 2006.

The application form should include a statement of need that explains the impact or importance of attending this meeting, a current cur­riculum vitae, estimate of expenses to travel to the meeting in Hollywood, Calif., USA, and a letter of reference (optional). ISTSS Student Research Grants Application Deadline: September 2
The ISTSS Student Research Grant (SRG) provides two $1,000 grants to student members who submit proposals judged to have the greatest potential to contribute to the field of traumatic stress.

Eligibility

1. Applicants must be currently enrolled and in good standing in a postgraduate program in a field with relevance to the study of trau­matic stress. Such programs include but are not limited to those in Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Nursing and Medicine.
2. Applicants must be student mem­bers of the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS).
3. Applicants must document that their research proposal has been approved by their academic advi­sor or other suitable research mentor, and by all appropriate institutional review committees (e.g., a Human Studies Committee or Institutional Review Board). 4. Applicants who have previously received an ISTSS Student Research Grant may apply again, but new applicants will receive pri­ority consideration in the process.

Applications and supporting materials must be received by September 2, 2006 in order to be reviewed. No late proposals will be accepted. Announcement of award recipients will be made at the annual meeting in November.
