StressPoints Editor

The ISTSS is seeking a new StressPoints Editor for a two-year renewable term. The StressPoints Editor is responsible for the content of the StressPoints, the ISTSS online newsletter. The successful candidate will have prior editorial experience (e.g., ISTSS abstract reviewer or deputy, ad hoc peer reviewer, editorial board, or editor status on scientific journals).
The primary responsibility for the StressPoints Editor is to review content for placement in the newsletter, which is published bimonthly. They will prepare the annual publication schedule, review article submissions from contributing editors, and edit content for accuracy, appropriateness, and relevance to the society and its strategic plan. The Editor may also solicit articles that may be timely or relevant to the membership, as appropriate.
Candidates should have an advanced degree or comparable experience in a trauma-related field. They should also be an active member of the ISTSS, and have familiarity with the ISTSS mission, membership, organizational structure. The StressPoints Editor will have the authority to appoint an editorial board of contributing editors who are each expected to submit and/or solicit a minimum of two articles for publication per year. The StressPoints Editor will also be expected to liaise with other editors (e.g., website, Social Media, JTS) and committees (e.g., Special Interest Groups, Public Information and Education Oversight Committee).
