In particular, the issue focused on an ongoing controversy among leaders in the field regarding the results of the 1988 National Vietnam Veterans Readjustment Study (NVVRS).
The story was picked up by national news service HealthDay, and received coverage in Forbes, The Washington Post, and the U.S. News and World Report, among other outlets.
IASC Guidelines on Mental Health Released
Last month, the Inter-Agency Standing Committee released Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings. ISTSS, through Past President Dean Kilpatrick, PhD, assisted with the creation of these guidelines, which are available here.
The guidelines were created to establish responses during emergencies to aid citizens' mental health and psychological well-being.
