Anka-(1).jpgAs 2023 draws to a close, I hope this issue finds you all safe and well, surrounded by loved ones, and engaged in meaningful work or meaningful rest. The past year has continued to challenge us, as humans and as those who dedicate our professional lives to helping trauma survivors recover. This holiday season, my heart is with the millions of people whose lives are impacted by stress, trauma, violence, displacement, discrimination, grief, and loss. Life can change instantaneously, as we know. So, in this moment, I am acutely aware of my privilege to reside in safety, and I keep all of those living without that basic human need in my thoughts. I am grateful for the compassion, kindness, and hope that exist among us. I am grateful to the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies for its dedication to improving awareness and knowledge about traumatic stress and evidence-based pathways to recovery. May we continue to find ways to come together. Wishing you a peaceful and healthy New Year.
