Gregory Leskin, PhD, has been selected by the ISTSS Web Task Force to be the new ISTSS Web editor. The Web Task Force carefully reviewed resumes submitted for this volunteer position before making a decision in February.
Leskin is a research health science specialist at the Education and Clinical Laboratory Division of the National Center for PTSD in Palo Alto, California.
Holding the position of ISTSS SIG chair from 2000 to 2004, Leskin was responsible for development of the individual SIG pages on the members-only section of the Web site. He also founded and chaired the ISTSS Student Group in 1993. As Web editor, Leskin plans to expand the amount and type of information and resources available on the Web site.
Functions he would like to add to the Web site include: expanded home page news items, graphics and quick links; job postings; therapist referral service; online educational courses offering CEU/CME; jointly supported Web pages collaborating with other organizations to announce funding opportunities and conference announcements; new online version of Journal of Traumatic Stress for rapid dissemination of research findings.
Leskin is eager to step into his new role. “Our goal is to make the ISTSS Web site the world class resource for the latest advances in clinical and research findings related to traumatic stress. We are very excited about the future of the ISTSS Web site,” he says.
