Conflict and Forced Migration SIG

The number of forcibly displaced persons is increasing each year, with over 115 million people affected by forced migration in 2025. People who are forcibly displaced experience a range of traumatic events and post-migration stressors, and are subsequently vulnerable to mental disorders. This SIG serves as a forum for experts, trainees, and those with lived experience with refugee and forced migration trauma to share work that responds to the phenomenon of forced displacement and the mental health treatment gap faced by affected populations. Through this group, we aim to innovate research and promote advocacy for populations affected by forced displacement.
