The International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies 22nd Annual Meeting will be held in Hollywood, California, November 4–7, 2006. The theme of this meeting is “The Psychobiology of Resilience and Trauma Across the Lifespan.”

The abstract submission site opens February 1 and closes March 15, 2006, 5 p.m., EST, for oral proposals, and March 31, 2006, 5 p.m., EST, for poster proposals.

The Program Committee has highlighted three areas of shared concern among scientists and practitioners for the meeting: 1) a lifespan perspective regarding trauma including children and the elderly; 2) scholarly and clinical perspectives on resilience and trauma, given exposure to potentially traumatic events; and 3) the relationships among genetic, biological and psychosocial factors predicting traumatic stress, resilience and treatment of trauma-related problems.

Watch for your Call for Abstracts to arrive in the mail later this year. Details also will be posted on the ISTSS Web site.
