Barbara Rothbaum, PhD, has been voted president elect in the 2003 ISTSS elections. Rothbaum, whose term as ISTSS president will begin at the 2004 annual meeting and continue through fall 2005, is associate professor in psychiatry and director of the Trauma and Anxiety Recovery Program at the Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. "I am honored to be trusted with the ISTSS presidency. I look forward to working closely with ISTSS members and the community to meet the challenges ahead of us. It is my goal to unite the membership in our common mission to help trauma survivors and find a place for ISTSS in the international community," Rothbaum says.
The election also resulted in new board members: Chris Brewin, PhD, Judith Cohen, MD, and Joop de Jong, MD, PhD. Marylene Cloitre, PhD, was newly elected to fill the remaining two years of Rothbaum's board term. Re-elected to the board are Edna Foa, PhD, and Stuart Turner, MD.
