Professional Awards Criteria
FAIR Data Award
The ISTSS FAIR Data Award recognizes research presentations that demonstrate the FAIR data principles. The “FAIR” data guiding principles aim to make research data easier to share and reuse, for greater scientific impact. FAIR = making data simple to Find, easy to Access, Interoperable across systems, and ready for future Reuse.
This award is a collaboration of the ISTSS Research Methodology Special Interest Group (RM-SIG), the Global Collaboration on Traumatic Stress (GCTS) FAIR Data Workgroup, and the Trauma Data Institute.
Applications will be judged against the following criteria. Applicants will explain how/if their work involves the below activities (There is no expectation that all presentations will reflect all of these aspects of FAIR):
- Developing tools, methods, or resources that help to make traumatic stress research data more FAIR.
- Reporting on work that has re-used or integrated existing data to address new research questions.
- Prepared and shared data involved in the work that you will be presenting.
- Demonstrates use of FAIR methods to facilitate analyses of cross-cultural or multi-country data (or clearly enables this if a method / tool).
- Demonstrates use of FAIR methods to facilitate analyses regarding marginalized communities or groups (or clearly enables this if a method / tool).
Eligibility Criteria
- Nominees are self-nominated through the Annual Meeting abstract submission process.
- Preference will be given to nominees who are members of ISTSS.
Award Benefits
The awardee will receive:
- $500 USD to assist with travel to the Annual Meeting.
- A plaque presented at the Annual Meeting.
- An announcement will appear in the ISTSS newsletter StressPoints and be posted to the ISTSS website.
