Wellcome has recently launched a new Mental Health Award. This award will fund researchers to investigate the causal mechanisms through which brain, body and environment interact over time in the development, persistence and resolution of anxiety- and trauma-related problems. The award is open to researchers at any career stage based anywhere in the world (apart from mainland China) who will be able to request up to four million euros for projects lasting up to five years. Stress-related disorders including PTSD and acute stress disorder are in scope as well as transdiagnostic symptoms strongly associated with anxiety- and trauma-related conditions (e.g., threat hyper-reactivity).
